About Pete: "My name is Peter Haydon Abordi. For money I load and unload aircraft at the airport which is only down the road from where i live. It's a pretty easy job but it can get boring, I just put on my ipod and zone out. Just last week I started another job though working for my friend Graham's record label Resist Records. I'm taking care of the booking and management side of things for his bands (aside from Parkway Drive) and so far I'm enjoying it. I love the ocean and sun. If the sun's out and I don't have to be any other place, I'll be at the beach either surfing or swimming. Something about the ocean just relaxes me. I grew up in the water and I feel weird if I don't go in it every day.
I dislike alot of things I guess. 99% of the human population is one of them, haha. But as I grow older I've discovered that the less time I worry about things I dislike, the more time I have to enjoy the things I do like. So fuck all that. I sing in a band called No Apologies. We put out an album called "Survival" in July of last year and toured quite alot after it's release. At the time we loved the record and thought it was the best we could do but now we just can't wait to make another one and do all the little things better. We've started planning our 2nd album. I can't wait till we get to work on it. I also did a little zine in the second half of last year called 5q's. It involved me asking friends that I've made around the world from touring 5 short questions each and it was alot of fun. If I wasn't such a retard with computers I would be up to like issue 5 by now, but because I suck and am too busy as well I have just started a blog and am going to just be posting a heap of interviews as well as other BS on there instead."

1. Why do you think it is that so many American bands are able to make the trip to Austrailia for touring yet so VERY few Australian bands ever make it to the U.S.?
A: That's easy, $$$$$$$. Simple, it costs a fuck load to fly from Australia to America and not many HC bands have that cash to spend. Another main reason is that kids in America have so many fucking bands and shows going on that the last thing they need or care about is some band from Australia, whereas stupid fucking Australian kids worship the ground any shitty band from the US steps foot on. The amount of shitty fucking bands touring here now is ridiculous. Bands used to have to "earn it" to tour here and that I thought was kinda cool. But now all you need is some fucking myspace hype and you're here.
1.a. Parkway Drive: Yay or Gay (no homo)?
A: FUCKING YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man I can't stress this enough. Parkway are some of the best dude's in the world and no matter what anyone says they are a HARDCORE band. The dudes don't give a fuck about anything. Even though they are doing pretty well they still stay at their friends houses, sleep on the sides of roads, mosh to support bands, take hardcore bands on tour with them, etc, etc. I fucking love those dudes and will back them as long as they are a band.
1.b. Day of Contempt: Yay or Gay (no homo)?
A: Yay again. Dan Smith is one of my best friends in the world and I love him and whatever he does as a musician. It was a little weird that they went from sounding and looking like Earth Crisis to sounding and looking like Good Charlotte, haha, but that's what they did and no one can do shit about it. I actually liked their "softer" stuff a lot. But yeah, maybe they could have changed the band name or something a little sooner.
2. Would you say it's true that Australian women are more "loose" than women anywhere else in the world? And by "loose" I mean more willing to have some real fun:
A: For someone like yourself who is a part of a full-time American touring band I could definitely see how you could think that, and you could be right. But I wouldn't know. I've been with my girl for over 5 years now and hate most females, haha. I think Australians in a whole are pretty chilled out and once the sun goes down and they have a few drinks things can get "loose".
3. Todd Jones: Misunderstood or just straight up asshole?
A: I don't care. Probably a bit of both and that's why I love the dude. Our personalities are very simlilar. Some people here probably say I'm an asshole but if they do, they dont know me. I, like Todd, just don't have time to be fucked around. I know what I like, I know what I don't, and I'm not here to make any more friends. Haha.
4. Soul Control: You heard of them? If so, would you say "fuck soul control"?
A: Haha, are you referring to how I can often say "fuck this, fuck that...", haha, or are you trying to get me to start some beef before I get over there? Haha, either way I have their 7" and it's pretty cool. I don't judge a band until I can see them with my own eyes. Anyone can make a half decent record nowadays but whether or not they can pull it of live is another thing.
5. Is Blacklisted's new "Heavier Than Heaven, Lonlier Than God" joint really the "best hardcore record ever" as said by a Deathwish Inc. employee?
A: No way. I really like the record and I'm really looking forward to seeing Blacklisted live, but whoever said that is either on drugs or is hyping their own product a little too much. It's definitely a good record and one of the better ones to come out in the last few years, but come on now, best hardcore record EVER???? I'm sure who even said that wasn't serious. But again, people can think and do whatever the fuck they want so if he/she thinks it's the best hardcore record ever, good on them.
Final thoughts, shouts, etc:
Thanks for the q's, your 5 will be coming soon. Shout out to all my american friends. After years of saying "I'm coming there this July" this year I actually am!
Episode #2 done. Another episode coming? If you have a cool themed blog let's mash up!

Weird decision to ask a question like that. Almost makes the reader assume that writer has an issue with said band or record. Its ashame that people are getting worked up by something as nonsensical as that. But then again like a gentleman the question backfired and the praise the record got was well deserved. How silly this biz is when old friends become enemies over stuff like jealousy...
good read.
